Odisha Handwovens “Exhibition-cum-Sale” at Odisha Bhawan

Odisha Handwovens has a rich heritage and Sonepuri, Khandua, Bomkai, Sambalpuri, Berhampuri Sarees of Odisha are known all over the Country. Its Preservation, promotion and progress are directly dependent upon the successful marketing.  Exhibition/Expos  provide a common  platform  for the  artisans  of  the  whole  State  for  display  and sale of  their  products  under  one  roof. Odisha  State  Handloom  WCS Ltd,  popularly  known  as  Boyanika, the  only Apex Society in Handloom Sector is providing marketing  support for the sustainable  livelihoods  of the  weavers  by organizing  Special Handloom Expos, National  Handloom  Expo and Exhibition-cum-Sale at  different  parts of the Country as well as the State.
As a part of Marketing Promotion and to reach the connoisseurs of New Delhi, Boyanika is organising one “Exhibition-cum-Sale” at Odisha Bhawan Premises from 26/10/12 to 10/11/2012.
          The Principal Resident Commissioner, Govt. of Odisha is inaugurating the Expo on 26th October 2012 at 5.00 P.M in presence of the Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Govt., Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Deptt., Govt. of Odisha. This Exhibition will remain open from 11.00 A.M. to 8.00 P.M. on all days and Special Govt. Rebate of 20 % + 10% is being given to the valued customers on purchase of every Handloom Product in this Exhibition.
Apart from the marketing of Orissa Handwovens, “Boyanika” is committed for all round Socio- Economic development of the weavers of the state. This Organisation is implementing various developmental programmes for the welfare of weavers of the State. Boyanika will go on with expanded view for exploring every new horizon of marketing during the coming years, for which the active Co-operation of all media persons is highly solicited.  The media intervention will certainly make this event a successful one like previous year.

MMTC launches its Jewellery Brand ‘Sanchi’


Shri S.R. Rao, Secretary- Department of Commerce, inaugurated MMTC Limited’s ‘Festival of Gold’ and launched MMTC’s exclusive jewellery brand Sanchi on the inaugural day of the golden extravaganza on 2nd November 2012 at the Convention Hall, Hotel Ashok, New Delhi. The brand showcases contemporary designer jewellery in gold, diamond, and silver, and has been fashioned in sync with fast changing market trends to target a youthful profile of customers along with its current die-hard clientele fascinated with gold.

The Festival of Gold is the largest gold jewellery exhibition-cum-sale of its kind providing the customers an opportunity to purchase hallmarked jewellery from various parts of India and value-added bullion products under a single roof. The much awaited Festival of Gold 2012 is being held up to Dhanteras on 11th November, 2012, and is open to the public from 10.30 am to 8.30 pm on all days.

Speaking on the event, Shri Rao was all praise for the wide display of rich craftsmanship from diverse regions of India and lauded the efforts of MMTC as a Govt. of India enterprise to take the lead year after year to progressively organize such exhibitions of hallmarked jewellery for the customers and trade. “The central theme of MMTC’s Festival of Gold is purity and variety. The precious and diamond stones in studded jewellery are accompanied by certificate issued by an accredited agency. The gold and studded jewellery from all over India are available under a single roof. I am happy to note that MMTC is also launching its own jewellery range by the name of Sanchi.”

2012-13 is the Golden Jubilee year of MMTC Limited as the company completes 50 glorious years since its inception in 1963. The commencement of MMTC’s 50th year accompanied the launch of a special 50th year insignia for the Company. MMTC as a brand aims to strike a balance between tradition and modernity, and now in its 50th year, continues to aim at surpassing its earlier best.
