The 5th PSE Conclave 2019 focused on ‘key issues’ pertaining to the Public Sector in India covering –
- PSE 2047 – Centenary Roadmap.
- Public Sector Divestment & Disinvestment – Pros & Cons.
- INDIA’s Infrastructure build-up and Critical Role of PSEs.
- Environment (includes Clean & Green Development), Innovation & Research in PSEs.
The conclusive idea at the “FORUM” flagged-off the issue that en-masse hitherto unscientific Privatisation of the strategic Public Sector areas like Defence, Energy, Steel, Mines & Minerals, Nuclear, Oil, Gas, Coal & Earth Resources, etc. must not be the government priority. Rather, a scientific cross-pollination of Public Sector and Private Sector in a Hybrid-Economy would work wonders with Public Private Partnership (PPP), rather than just participation model.
The core theme towards the report PSE 2047 – A Centenary Roadmap, under generation by ENERTIA Foundation and to be published by MARS Media Resources (MMR), focuses on “Professionalization sans Privatisation” of PSEs (Public Sector Enterprises) and deliverance of collaborative PPP for the future recourse.

Bombay HC directed Govt of Maha to pay monthly rent of Rs. 15000 to Mahul residents and other PAPs

Govt loost against people's unity

Mumbai | 4th April: Finally after more than a year of struggle by the people of Mahul demanding relocation, Govt lost the case in High Court today when the Court directed the govt to pay rent of Rs. 15000 to Mahul residents and other project affected persons (PAPs). Mahul was declared unfit for Human habitation by NGT in 2015 as well as IIT, Bombay this year, in spite of this, the Government of Maharashtra remain adamant to not move people out of Mahul. Now, the Court order is binding on the Govt.

The Court has directed the Govt to pay a monthly rent of Rs. 15000 and a deposit of Rs. 45000 as long as the finding of NGT regarding pollution remain intact.
Municipal corporation is directed to take consent of the people whoever wants to opt for rent and submit the estimated amount to the state government so that the govt can release fund to the corporation which in turn deposit the yearly amount to bank account of Mahul residents and other PAPs. After receiving the amount, Mahul residents will have to vacate their houses within one month and acquire a house on rent elsewhere.

Today, on one hand people's perseverant struggles has got victory while on the other hand the anti-people face of BJP govt in Maharashtra stand exposed. Today is the 158th day of the dharna being staged by Mahul residents and it will continue until people gets money in their account so that they can acquire alternative housing.

RBI releases Large Exposures Framework (LEF)
This is in reference to circular DBR.No.BP.BC.43/21.01.003/2016-17 dated December 01, 2016 on the large exposures framework. After due consideration of the representations received from stakeholders, it has been decided by RBI as under:

·         Non-centrally cleared derivatives exposures will be outside the purview of exposure limits till April 01, 2020. However, banks must compute these exposures separately and report to the Department of Banking Regulation on quarterly basis.

·         For the purpose of reckoning exposure limits under LEF, an Indian branch of a foreign Global Systemically Important Bank (G-SIB) will be considered as any other Indian bank and can accordingly take exposure upto 25% of its Tier I capital on another non-GSIB in India.

·         The interbank exposure limit of an Indian branch of a foreign G-SIB with its Head Office will be 20% of its Tier I capital in India.

·         The eligible capital base for the purpose of LEF will be the effective amount of Tier 1 capital fulfilling the criteria defined in the Master Circular on Basel III – Capital Regulation dated July 1, 2015 (as amended from time to time) as per the last audited balance sheet. However, the infusion of capital under Tier I after the published balance sheet date may also be taken into account for the purpose of Large Exposures Framework. Banks shall obtain an external auditor’s certificate on completion of the augmentation of capital and submit the same to the Reserve Bank of India (Department of Banking Supervision) before reckoning the additions to capital funds.

·         For Indian Banks, profits accrued during the year, subject to provisions contained in para (vii) of Master Circular on Basel III – Capital Regulation dated July 1, 2015 (as amended from time to time), will also be reckoned as Tier I capital for the purpose of Large Exposures Framework.

·         No additional time shall be given to banks that are in breach of specified interbank limits with other banks or with their Head Offices, to bring their exposures within limit.

Enjoy the ride with 2nd Gen Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)
Riders can now enjoy and experience 2019 Africa Twin without gear change hassles thanks to its Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). This technology marvel offers thrilling automatic shifting. When in automatic mode, the rider can choose between D mode for comfortable cruising and 3 dynamic sport settings in S mode.

The second generation DCT technology is exclusively engineered to stretch boundaries of off-roading, all thanks to its G switch. It accelerates aggressive gear shifting to give rider increased control in sweeping dirt, gravel corners and even during lofting the front wheel over any obstacle.

Moreover, 2019 Africa Twin is a smart ride. The breakthrough Incline Detection technology keeps the rider in control on unruly terrains like loose dunes or steep trackIt detects whether the motorcycle is going up or down slope and accordingly, the system’s ECU makes appropriate gear selection.

Powerful engine
Loaded with parallel twin 999.11cc engine with Max power of 87.7 Bhp@7500rpm and 93.1Nm of torque@6000rpm, the Africa Twin has the muscle to take on extreme off-road environments, offering the rider comfort both for long distance touring and agility for everyday riding.

Dynamically Responsive
2019 Africa Twin tackles different riding scenarios differently and the rider can select from 3 levels of Power and Engine Brakingoffers pre-set combinations. Additionally, the Throttle by wire (TBW) promises the best performance for different riding styles and conditions with its 4 riding modes (Tour, Urban, Gravel and User).

Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) is another example of Honda’s technology prowess. This system gives seven settings for a wide range of conditions, from pavement to fast, loose fire roads to challenging single track. You can also turn it off. The Africa Twin’s Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) comes standard. Off-road riders will appreciate the fact that they can turn for the rear wheel.

Captivating off-road experience
With its roots in the Dakar Rally, Africa Twin is engineered with supreme off-roading capabilities. The Showa cartridge-type inverted front forkpre-load adjuster on both wheels and the option of adjusting suspension to a softer or stiffer setting contributes to the best off-road experience. The adjustable seat height easily accommodates wide range of riders while narrow riding position enhances handling under demanding conditions. Mass centralization is the core of this ultimate adventurer; heavy components such as battery are placed as close to motorcycle’s center of gravity as possible. The chassis design provides a wide 43-degree steering angle and a tight 2.5-metre turning radius.

Advanced electronics
The position of the rally-style LCD instrument panel evokes nostalgia of those Dakar winning machines and allows you to see every bit of information clearly. The negative LCD instrument display include all possible information such as riding modes, speedometer, tachometer, fuel, gear position, HSTC, odometer, trip meter, clock and ABS Indicator.

Royal Challenge Sports Drink Launches #ChallengeAccepted
A campaign with Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy and Virat Kohli that challenges gender stereotypes in Cricket.
YouTube Link:

Bangalore, 2nd April 2019: Royal Challenge Sports Drink today launched #ChallengeAccepted, a campaign that challenges gender-based stereotypes in cricket and spotlights a world of equality that will lead to a better tomorrow both on and off the field.
In the film, Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy from the Indian women cricket team and Virat Kohli come together to say that ‘A day is coming where the world needs to become equal’ and urges fans to accept the challenge to break the barriers in their mind and to see men and women’s Cricket as one game and one team which is not divided by gender.
The campaign challenges the belief that women and men’s cricket is not on par because of the perception that women are not as strong, as fast, or as fit as their male counterparts who rally bigger crowds and fanfare. To break the myth Royal Challenge Sports Drink is asking people to support the first ever mixed gender T20 match that the brand will organize with women cricketers and the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.
Voicing his support for the campaign, Virat Kohli says “Be it men or women, cricket is one game and I want to urge the fans to break the boundaries that exist in their mind that divides the sport by gender. Equality in sports is ultimately a reflection of equality in life and if we want a better tomorrow then we need to say #ChallengeAccepted and start breaking down all stereotypes.”
Speaking about the Royal Challenge Sports Drink campaign, Mithali Raj, under whose leadership India has reached World Cup final twice said, “Over the recent years, women’s cricket has made a lot of progress in terms of earning respect from fans and experts but the playing field is still not equal and the true difference are seen when there is parity in opportunities, salaries, coverage and fan support.”
In support of the campaignHarmanpreet Kaur said, “People say that women and men’s cricket is not equal because we are not able to face the same challenges on-field. To all those fans, I want to say that neither does the idea of facing a ball at 150 kmph daunt me, nor do I worry about the size of the stadium while hitting a boundary. The start to making cricket one game will come from fans saying Challenge Accepted and breaking the barriers in their mind.”
Veda Krishnamurthy adds, “If we want a world tomorrow where girls start looking at professional cricket as a real career option then we need to begin to change the game today. If we don’t put women and men cricketers on the same field then fans are not going to see it as one game, hence we are saying #ChallengeAccepted and asking the nation to support the mixed gender match that Royal Challenge Sports Drink is planning.”
Talking about the campaign, Amarpreet Anand, Executive Vice President & Portfolio Head, Diageo India, says, “With#ChallengeAccepted, the idea is to challenge stereotypes in life, because the bold are the ones who are fearless to do so. Our first point of view is to challenge gender stereotypes in cricket, where the game is being divided by gender & not skills & prowess. We believe that it’s a cause worthy of a conversation in culture & we are supporting the first mixed gender match with international cricketers. We are rolling out a full 360-degree activation plan supported by like-minded influencers & the RCB cricket team.”
Vishnu Srivastav - Creative Head at DDB Mudra South and East adds, “Royal Challenge as a brand has always stood for forward thinking and boldness. It has stood for the spirit of challenging the ‘now’. So, when it came to this campaign, with the euphoria linked to the cricket season we wanted talk about what’s missing in all this excitement – Women Cricketers. We wanted to create a campaign that challenges the world to move towards a more progressive and inclusive space for women, in sports and life. And we’re just getting started.”
