CSIR-IICB scientists connect stress with gastric ulcer
A scientific team at CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (CSIR-IICB), Kolkata have for the first time identified the molecular mechanism by which acute mental stress affects the stomach causing gastric ulcer or stress-related mucosal disease.
The team has used drugs that can act specifically on mitochondria present in the stomach to prevent gastric ulcer caused by stress.
Stomach is known as the body’s second brain with a specialised neural network, repository of neurotransmitters and different kinds of nerve cells innervating the organ, though fewer in number.
By using a drug that prevents corticosterone from binding to the receptor found inside the cell, the researchers were able to significantly prevent stomach injury in the animals. Corticosterone is the main hormone involved in the regulation of stress response.
Further research can lead to a new generation of anti-stress medications with minimal side effects which would aim at targeting the mitochondrial pathology to take care of a bigger psychosomatic health complication.

Germany summons Iran’s ambassador on espionage
Germany said on Tuesday it had summoned Iran’s ambassador to reprimand Tehran against spying on individuals and groups with close ties to Israel, Reuters reported. The move came after the March conviction of a Pakistani man for spying for Iran in Germany went into force. Mustufa Haidar Syed-Naqfi was convicted of gathering intelligence on Reinhold Robbe, the former head of the German-Israel Friendship Society, and an Israeli-French economics professor in Paris, for Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards. The Foreign Ministry summoned the Iranian ambassador to deliver the sharp rebuke once the German constitutional court rejected his appeal. The meeting took place on December 22 but was not disclosed until now. Philipp Ackermann, acting director of the Foreign Ministry’s political section, had reportedly told the Iranian ambassador that “such activities would not be tolerated and were completely unacceptable.”
Major blackout hits Kenya & Uganda
A major power outage has led to loss of electricity in Kenya’s capital Nairobi and in some central, western and coastal regions of the country, potentially leaving millions of people in the dark. A local power company, which is Kenya’s sole electricity distributor, said a “technical hitch emanating from [its] transmission system” has caused the blackout. Neighboring Uganda also suffered a power outage. The Ugandan power company said the blackout was caused by a “system disturbance” affected “several areas,” without giving the exact locations.
Israeli motorist shot dead in West Bank

Israeli soldiers are currently looking for the suspect. Tensions are running high right now in Israel and the occupied territories following US President Donald Trump’s decision to move the American embassy to Jerusalem. Both Israelis and Palestinians consider the ancient city to be their rightful capital.

Economy in Nose Dive, Consensus Govt For Drastic Correction
January09, 2018 (C) Ravinder Singh progressindia2015@gmail.com
Honorable President of India and CJI may please note that Present Government is creating NON PERFORMING ASSETS – which are not disclosed to the public. Just 9 FamiliesBorrowings are Rs.16,81,580 Cr – Bank NPAs exceedRs.10,00,000 Cr, actual may be much more. Banks have admitted to Rs.7,30,000 Cr Wilful Defaulters.
Twice More Are Securing Banks Loans to Hide their NPAs* – like RJio. Then there are HEAVILY IN-DEBT Company Taking over Another Heavily IN-Debt Company, Loss Making Companies Taking Over Loss Making Companies. *RIL funding RJio Losses.
Most of the Govt of India projects are LEAST VIABLE like Railways, Power & Highways.
Industry is Worst Affected – No Investment No IPR, Farmers Produce Rotting, Services impacted by GST and Personals benefit borrowers.
Credit to 9 Families and NPAs together already far exceed all the Credit Growth to Private Sector therefore Credit for 1300m Indians is zero or Negative. Rs.10,00,000 Cr Credit to Farmers is an illusion are mostly CROP Loans only – Farmers can’t Develop Storages & Processing Facilities.
THESE ARE RBI FACTS. Government is planting FAKE news like Record Sale of Luxury cars – 38989 in 2017 up from 30188 in 2013. 8701 Cars More Sales than in 2013 doesn’t reflect HEALTHY ECONOMY – 30 LUXURY CARS PER MILLION POPULATION THAT TOO MAINLY FINANCED BY BANKS – PERSONAL LOANS.
