ASSAM ASSOCIATION, DELHI CONDOLES THE DEATH OF NIDO TANIA
DEMANDS JUSTICE FOR HIM
DEMANDS JUSTICE FOR HIM
New Delhi, 3rd February, 2014: Assam
Association, Delhi, the premier socio-cultural organisation of the
Assamese people in Delhi is deeply anguished at the recent incident of
racial abuse in the heart of cosmopolitan city Delhi, fondly known as
‘Dilwalon ki Dilli’, which ended with the cruel death of an innocent boy
from Arunachal Pradesh.
The Association deplores such discrimination shown by thoughtless
elements in the society which destroy the social fabric and provoke the
sentiment of marginalization for the people of the north eastern states
or in that matter for any section of people. We the members of Assam Association, Delhi empathise with the family members of the deceased to bear the agony and appeal to them to draw courage from the students and people from NER in Delhi protesting against the evil done to their son. We demand the Chief Minister and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to take action to put the culprits behind the bar immediately without any further delay so that the faith of common people of Delhi is restored about their safety.
We also appeal to the people specially the socio-cultural organisations of Delhi to raise their voices against such inhuman behaviour and to spread awareness among Delhites to openly protest and prevent such racial abuse and discrimination.
