AIMA – St Gallen Symposium Session

Dear Mr Sagar,
AIMA – St Gallen Symposium Session
on
Capital for Purpose
22nd January 2019 (Tuesday) : AIMA, Lajpat Nagar – New Delhi

Capital, as defined by economists, has been applied to various purposes for the past four hundred years. It has served as the foundation for many of humankind’s most extraordinary achievements, including economic prosperity and social improvements. Thanks in part to capital, today’s society enjoys technological and medical progress, as well as declining poverty and hunger. Yet, the world still faces complex challenges and is constantly changing. The use of capital, too, must be adapted to new factors such as climate change and the cultural shifts brought by millennials. In this context, individuals, civil society, businesses and governments may recalibrate the purposes for which capital is used in an effort to mitigate unwanted externalities. Focusing capital on long-term purposes has the potential to address many of today’s challenges, from data privacy scandals to the calamity of plastic waste. The time has come to counter excessive short-termism and start doing business as unusual.

Md Dulal Hossain, Rishi Kumar take opening round honours

Md Dulal Hossain, Rishi Kumar take opening round honours at  Final Qualifying Stage
Kensville Golf & Country Club, Ahmedabad, January 14, 2019:

Bangladesh’s Md Dulal Hossain and Lucknow’s Rishi Kumar took the opening round honours at the PGTI’s Final Qualifying Stage for the 2019 season as both golfers shot scores of one-under-71 for the joint lead at the Kensville Golf & Country Club near Ahmedabad.
While Md Dulal Hossain sank three birdies at the cost of two bogeys, Rishi Kumar produced two birdies in exchange for one bogey on an extremely windy day.
Dulal’s three birdies came as a result of conversions from a range of five to nine feet.
Dulal said, “I struck the ball really well despite the tough conditions. My putting was also decent but I need to further improve on it. I didn’t have a great season on the PGTI last year as I missed a lot of cuts. But I feel my game is now on the upswing and a good performance this week will help me start the season with a new lease of confidence.”
Chandigarh teenager Aadil Bedi, who recently qualified for the Asian Tour, was placed tied third at even-par-72. He shared third place with two other Chandigarh golfers, Gurbaaz Mann and Rajinder, as well as Lucknow’s Vijay Kumar and Gurugram’s Priyanshu Singh.
The top 80 players (+ ties) will make the cut after round two of the Final Qualifying Stage. At the end of round four, the top 41 players will earn their full cards for the 2019 PGTI season.
