FOUR STARS OF THE INDIAN MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM INVITED TO AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE TRYOUTS
Four stars of the Indian Men’s Basketball team invited to Australian league tryouts
- Indian basketball players Amritpal Singh, Amjyot Singh, Yadwinder Singh and Vishesh Bhriguvanshi have been invited to Melbourne by the National Basketball League (NBL) to participate in their draft combine for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
- The combine is set to take place on the 17th and 18th of April, 2017 in the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
- The invitation and participation in the NBL Draft Combine was facilitated by basketball management company Pursuit India.
Bengaluru/Melbourne, 15th April, 2017: Four senior members of the Indian national basketball team – Amjyot Singh Gill, Amritpal Singh, Yadwinder Singh, and Vishesh Bhriguvanshi, have been invited by the National Basketball League (NBL) – the professional basketball league of Australia, to participate in the NBL Draft combine for the upcoming season 2017-18.
The combine is set to take place on the 17th and 18th of April at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. A total of 80 players are expected to participate in the combine. These will include returning US college players, South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) players, Australian state league players, and members of Australia’s national U18 and U20’s teams. It is an opportunity for coaches and scouts of different NBL teams to gauge the talent at hand and sign the players they believe could help their team.
As standard practice, players participating in the NBL Draft Combine must pay an entry fee of AUD $250. However, this fee has been waived off for all the invited Indian players. The waiver of fees for the Indian contingent by the NBL is just another sign that the NBL has serious intentions to enter the Indian market. Last year, the NBL signed a historic deal with VEQTA to stream NBL games live in India.
Under the new rules of the NBL, the players belonging to the countries of the FIBA Asia zone would be given a separate spot that would not take up any of the three spots reserved for the foreign players. This move has been made to attract the top Asian talents and ensure that they consider the NBL as a serious destination to ply their trade.
The Indian players’ participation in the NBL Draft Combine was made possible by Pursuit India and its Australian partner Danny Kordahi. Pursuit, which had previously worked with Kordahi and arranged the visit of Australian coach Damian Cotter to the national men’s camp, has been working behind-the-scenes for months to identify suitable playing opportunities across the globe.
“It’s the biggest platform our players have had so far to showcase their talent. The NBL is a highly competitive international league and it’s a fantastic opportunity for our top Indian players to gauge their skill levels. Whatever the outcome, they will benefit a great deal from the experience itself,” says Mr. Vishnu Ravi Shankar, head of Pursuit India.
ABOUT THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE
(Sourced verbatim from the official NBL page. The link: http://www.nbl.com.au/history/)
The National Basketball League is regarded as one of the premier basketball leagues in the world, and after a humble beginning, is today home to some of the world’s best players.
In 1978, New South Wales Basketball president John Raschke sat with 10 interested parties in an unused aircraft hangar at Sydney Airport to discuss the formation of a national competition that would help the development of the sport throughout Australia.
A national competition was also seen as a way of improving the standard of players who would compete for Australia at events such as the Olympic Games and World Championships.
Since that day, the NBL has grown from a fledgling competition with games played in front of just a few hundred people to a league that attracts more than 750,000 spectators each season, as well as prime-time television audiences for games broadcast nationally.
While games were initially played in small suburban stadiums, clubs now perform at major Australian arenas, including Perth Arena which can seat 14,000+ spectators.
Basketball also has one of the highest participation rates of any team sport in Australia, with numbers continuing to grow each year.
Between 1979 and 1997, the NBL season was played between April and September, but in 1998 the league moved its season to the summer place, with games played between October and April.
Eight teams currently compete in the NBL – the Adelaide 36ers, Cairns Taipans, Melbourne United, New Zealand Breakers, Perth Wildcats, Sydney Kings, Brisbane Bullets and Illawarra Hawks.

RBI GOI KI APNI DUKAN PRIVATE SECTOR CREDIT FLOW $100B 3 YRS
April15, 2017 (C) Ravinder Singh progressindia2015@gmail.com
When Money Supply growth is just about 30.7% Rs.30,00,000 Cr in 3 years – ought to be 50%-60% in three years or Rs.50,00,000 Cr but even in this meagre Money Supply Bank Credits growth is just Rs.11,20,000 Cr or 37% of actual Money Supply and even in this almost half of the Credit flow goes as Personal Loans – Three main sectors Agriculture, Services, and Industry get just Rs.6,14,600 Cr or $100b.
When Indian GDP is about $2,000b – $30b a year or 1.5% of GDP is a fraction of Inflation – Credit to main Sectors is Pathetic – even more shocking Industry got just $12b in three year.

SOUTH ASIA POSITIONED TO REMAIN THE FASTEST-GROWING REGION
SOUTH ASIA POSITIONED TO REMAIN THE FASTEST-GROWING REGION
GLOBAL SLOW GROWTH
South Asia positioned to remain the fastest-growing region amid a prolonged episode of slow global growth:
UN report Growth to benefit from robust domestic demand and a supportive macroeconomic environment.
UN report Growth to benefit from robust domestic demand and a supportive macroeconomic environment.
(live-PR.com) – World economic situation and prospects report was launched in UN India office in New Delhi as media launch.Media asked questions ranging from Indian econonomy to Chinese and other regional economies such as Pakistan Bangladesh. On question to media about the innovative and higher education being injected by the nation if make any sense in visualising the future growth of the
nations .On question about latin American countries and other which mostly rely on their natural resources would they follow the slow growth pattern or their is an urgent growth of higher education and rich immigration policy in question. With exxcellent panels the media questions were fervently taken and answered.
South Asia is exhibiting the fastest growth among all regions, even as the global economy continues to be trapped in a prolonged period of slow economic growth, according to the United Nations World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) 2017 Report released today. The report shows that world gross product grew by just 2.2 per cent in 2016, marking its slowest pace of expansion since the Great Recession of 2009.
Global growth is projected to see a moderate improvement to 2.7 per cent in 2017 and 2.9 per cent in 2018, but this is more an indication of economic stabilization than a signal of a robust revival of global demand.Against this backdrop, South Asia will continue to grow more rapidly than other regions. Regional GDP is estimated to have expanded by 6.7 per cent in 2016.
Supported by robust consumption, a moderate pickup in investment and a supportive macroeconomic environment, growth is projected to accelerate to 6.9 per cent in 2017 and 2018.
While monetary policy stances are generally accommodative across the region, fiscal policy remains moderately tight but with some degree of flexibility.
Growth prospects for the larger economies India has positioned itself as one of the most dynamic emerging economies.
Growth is projected to reach 7.7 per cent in 2017 and 7.6 per cent in 2018 amid strong private consumption.
Investment demand is expected to pick up slightly, supported by monetary easing, government efforts towards infrastructure investments and public-private partnerships, and domestic reforms.
The outlook for the Islamic Republic of Iran has strengthened considerably.
This can be attributed to the expansion of oil exports, increasing business confidence and a surge in foreign investments.
GDP growth is estimated to have accelerated to 4.3 per cent in 2016, with a further pickup expected in 2017 and 2018.
In Pakistan, growth is projected to remain robust, above 5.0 per cent.
Economic activity will be driven by strong consumption, a supportive monetary policy stance and rising investment. Similarly, the Bangladesh economy continues to expand at a vigorous pace, driven by strong domestic demand and a more proactive fiscal stance. Growth is projected to remain robust at 6.8 and 6.6 per cent in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Downside risks and policy challenges The report cautions that there are significant downside risks to the global and the regional outlook. Among other issues, the report highlights the high degree of uncertainty in the international policy environment and elevated foreign currency-denominated debt levels as key downside risks that may derail global growth.
Brexit and Donald Trump’s election as the U.S. president added to uncertainty as Trump has railed against existing free-trade agreements and threatened to impose punitive tariffs on some imports.
The co-authors of the report however say South Asia is the world’s fastest-growing region, with 6.7 percent growth in 2016 projected to reach 6.9 percent in 2017 and 2018. It says despite a slowdown in China, Asia remains a “bright spot.
The report said Most economies in East Asia and South Asia, led by China and India, saw robust growth driven by strong expansion of domestic demand.
Issued by the UN Department of Public Information For South Asia, potential renewed episodes of high financial volatility, including a sudden surge in external borrowing costs and large capital outflows, could significantly increase the difficulties to roll over debt. The ongoing economic reform agenda might also experience some setbacks, while political instabilities could dampen investment prospects.
From a medium-term perspective, a key fiscal challenge for the region involves improving tax revenues and promoting a supportive environment for the private sector, which together can enhance the capacity to implement counter-cyclical policies.
Given the close linkages between demand, investment, trade and productivity, the extended episode of weak global growth may prove self-perpetuating, especially in the absence of concerted policy efforts to revive investment and foster a recovery in productivity.
Under those circumstances, the report calls for a more balanced policy approach – one that goes beyond over-reliance on monetary policy- to not only restore robust growth in the medium term, but also to achieve greater progress on sustainable development. About the report:
The World Economic Situation and Prospects report is the UN’s flagship publication on expected trends in the global economy.
WESP is produced annually by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the five UN regional commissions and the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO)

US finds China and Russia making united effort to bring International diplomacy to bring peace on the Korean peninsula and in Syria. .Russia has in their clarion call make an official announcements for US and North Korea to engage in diplomatic deliberationsKremlin said on Friday it favoured diplomatic methods of resolutions of all crises, including on the Korean peninsula, amid mounting tensions between Washington and Pyongyang over North Korea’s nuclear program.
“We call all countries for restraint, we call all the countries to refrain from any actions that could amount to provocative steps”, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a conference call with reporters.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump vowed Thursday that the “problem” of North Korea “will be taken care of,” as speculation mounted that Pyongyang might be preparing another nuclear or missile test.
“North Korea is a problem, the problem will be taken care of,” Trump told reporters.
Separately on Twitter, he expressed confidence that China, Pyongyang’s sole ally, would “properly deal with North Korea”. But, “if they are unable to do so, the US, with its allies, will! USA.” China has warned that “conflict could break out at any moment” as tension over North Korea increases.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi said if war occurred there could be no winner.
Mr Wang’s comments come as the US voices increasing concern at North Korea’s development of nuclear weapons and deploys a Navy carrier group off the Korean peninsula.
China, North Korea’s only backer, fears conflict could cause the regime to collapse and problems on its border.
Mr Wang said: “One has the feeling that a conflict could break out at any moment.
“I think that all relevant parties should be highly vigilant with regards to this situation.”
“We call on all parties to refrain from provoking and threatening each other, whether in words or actions, and not let the situation get to an irreversible and unmanageable stage.”
North Korea has warned the US not to take provocative action in the region, saying it is “ready to hit back with nuclear attacks”.
The comments came as North Korea marked the 105th anniversary of the birth of its founding president, Kim Il-sung.
A huge parade in Pyongyang was held amid speculation current leader Kim Jong-un could order a new nuclear test.
Among the hardware on display appeared to be new intercontinental and submarine-launched ballistic missiles.
The show of strength comes amid mounting tension, with a US aircraft carrier group steaming towards the region.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, held a strategic communication via phone Friday on bilateral ties, the situation in Syria and the Korean Peninsula.
The two foreign ministers pledged to actively implement the consensus reached by the two countries’ heads of state on the development of China-Russia relations and to prepare for a series of high-level exchanges in the near future.
The two ministers stressed that China and Russia enjoy solid mutual trust and are ready to strengthen strategic coordination in regional and international affairs.
On the situation in Syria, Wang said the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria should be respected, adding that a top priority of the moment is to conduct an independent, just and professional investigation into the use of chemical weapons in the country. He said he believed that the fact will come to light.
On the Korean Peninsula, Wang said, preventing war and chaos on the peninsula meets the common interests of China and Russia, and pulling all the parties back to the negotiating table is the common goal of the two countries.
China is willing to coordinate closely with Russia to cool down the situation on the peninsula and push the related parties to resume dialogue, he said.
Lavrov said that Russia and China enjoy frequent high-level exchanges, ever deepening mutual trust and fruitful results from bilateral cooperation in various fields.
He said Russia is in favor of a fair investigation into Syria’s chemical weapon issue as soon as possible and a resumption of dialogue on the Korean Peninsula issue.
Lavrov said that Russia is willing to continue to keep close strategic coordination and communication with China.

NATIONALIZE CATTLE, GUJARAT TO PAY RS.25/DAY FOR 24HR CARE
April15, 2017 (C) Ravinder Singh progressindia2015@gmail.com
GoI doesn’t even blink in allowing Rs.2,00,000 Cr Credit to RIL for RJIO operations. But when it comes to Farmer it has all the Excuses to deny credit or allow Short Term credit and take it back soon after harvest in one installment or within one month.
How did GoG calculate Rs.25/day Compensation for Caring Cattle in shelters? Even Wheat husk cost Rs.12 per kg. A Cattle require Rs.10 kg of dry fodder every day worth Rs.120 plus 25 LPD water & Green Foddar, 24 hour Care by a family who may be paid Rs.500 per day as salary in Villages and Rs.1000 per day in Urban areas.
GoG didn’t allow Compensation for Farmers who rear the Unproductive Cattle.
GoG should Nationalize all Cattle, hire Farmers to Care for Cattle who may be engaged as Gov of Gujarat or GOI employees. Milk, Dung & Urine may all belong to GoG or GoI.
