Dear friend,
Sanskrit journalists are organizing a conference at Akshardham in Delhi during 10-11 December 2015.
Please find attached a document where some of us have tried to capture the theme and objectives of the conference.
You are deeply involved in innovative ways to make Sanskrit accessible to non-Sanskrit specialists. Among other things the conference wants to explore how the Sanskrit user base that includes journalists and bloggers can make use of innovative techniques.
Many projects immediately come to mind and let us come together and see what help can be sought from a vast Sanskrit user community to help with several technology related projects.
We have a few wonderful examples from which we can build. The Gita super site at IIT Kanpur is one example of a site that meets nearly all the user needs. Something like this we can use to develop several such super sites.
It would be wonderful to have you present your work and have a rich panel discussion on technology for Sanskrit.
Two great Sanskrit scholars – Jagadguru Ramabhadracharya Maharaj and Sadhu Bhadreshdas Maharaj have agreed to be keynote speakers.
As you know Akshardham is a wonderful host and we are receiving very enthusiastic response to our request for participation.
Looking forward to your positive response.

Prime Minister of India reviews progress of infrastructure sectors
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, reviewed the progress of digital infrastructure, rural infrastructure, and connectivity sectors.
The Prime Minister sought details from officials on preparations for providing electricity to all unconnected villages in the country within 1000 days. He directed concerned departments to monitor progress towards this goal on a real-time basis.
The Prime Minister was apprised of the status of mobile connectivity across the country. He directed officials to explore the possibility of leveraging existing resources, including railway and other communication infrastructure, to provide mobile connectivity in remote, unconnected areas. He emphasized that the targets for digital infrastructure should be synchronized with the targets for the Digital India initiative.
The Prime Minister expressed serious concern over the issue of “call drops” and asked officials to suggest measures and the steps undertaken to address this problem. He directed that steps be taken urgently to resolve the problem, and also to ensure that the problems in voice connectivity do not extend to data connectivity in the future.
He also reviewed the progress of solar energy related projects, especially with regard to railway stations and airports. He directed that work related to setting up of Railway Universities be speeded up. He also called for priority to be assigned to road links with Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister said that with enough funds now being provided for infrastructure creation, the onus is on the concerned Ministries to ensure that these outlays are converted into proportionate outcomes.
