EC to visit Lucknow

EC to visit Lucknow today to review UP poll preparations-:The full Election Commission, EC will visit Lucknow this evening to review the election preparations in Uttar Pradesh which will go to polls next year. The Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners will meet representatives of recognised National and State level parties tomorrow during the review meetings. They will also have a meeting with senior officials of the state in this regard.

According to sources, EC has declared 53 Assembly seats as expenditure sensitive in Uttar Pradesh. The EC has also asked all other States which will go to polls next year along with Uttar Pradesh, that there will be two assistant expenditure observers, two flying squads and more number of static surveillance teams and video surveillance teams. The other States are Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Himachal Pradesh in which Assembly elections will be held next year.
