FIH formally writes to IOA honouring Hockey India as the National Association of India

New Delhi, Oct 24th 2015, : In continuation to the decision made by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) based out of Lausanne, Switzerland, on 17th September 2015,  the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has now formally written a letter to the Indian Olympic Association, requesting them to remove all reference of the IHF from their records and website. FIH however had approved Hockey India (HI) in during the FIH Congress in November 2014 as the National Association of India. This decision was later appealed by the Indian Hockey Federation to CAS, and CAS confirmed this decision to reinstate HI as the official governing body for the sport of hockey in India.
Hockey India came into existence in the year 2009 and ever since Indian hockey has only seen positive changes. Prestigious international events such as the FIH Champions Trophy, Olympic Qualification, and FIH Hockey World League are some of the events that Hockey India has hosted in India giving the players and the audience an opportunity to experience top level international hockey. Hockey India through the highly successful Hockey India League has taken the sport to the next level creating aspiration amongst youngsters to make a career in the sport and helping unearth fresh talent. The Hockey India League has not only helped Indian hockey but also has attracted many international stars. In the past few years Hockey India has only helped India become a prominent destination in the global hockey map.
Since the inception of Hockey India, the Indian National Hockey Teams have seen a resurgence in performance, including the Indian Men’s and Women’s qualification for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

HDFC BANK & MASTERCARD WILL SUPPORT TRADERS E COMMERCE PORTAL

HDFC BANK & MASTERCARD WILL SUPPORT TRADERS E COMMERCE PORTAL E-LALA
E-LALA WILL ENCOURAGE USE OF PLASTIC MONEY 
With having e retail boom among the consumers and to protect offline market from onslaughts and sinister designs of e commerce portals, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is entering into e commerce field when pilot of its e commerce portal e-lala will be launched at Nagpur on forthcoming 5th November with big fanfare. Two major institutions lead bank HDFC Bank & global major in digital payments MasterCard have join hands with CAIT to support e-lala by providing seamless online & offline payment solutions for shoppers at e-lala.
CAIT National President Mr. B.C.Bhartia informed that full fledged launch of e-lala will be held in third week of November at New Delhi followed by subsequent launch in 50 cities across the Country. ” We have made target of on boarding 50 thousands sellers on e-lala by end of March,2016. It is for the first time that trade associations all over the Country will be playing a key role in taking the portal down the line in urban and rural areas”-said Mr. Bhartia. More than 40 thousand Trade Associations of different states are associated with CAIT which in turn having about 6 crore small businesses in their fold.
Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General of CAIT said that e-lala will be distinctive and different from other portals.Business entities already having a physical store will only be enrolled as seller and no proxy seller will be allowed to board e-lala. The portal will encourage usage of plastic money & internet banking while making payments for the purchases made. Even delivery men shall also be carrying card payment machine, Mobile applications, tablets & other gadgets facilitating digital payments to consumers. Initially, cash on delivery will also be taken as a last resort of payment.
Both Mr. Bhartia & Mr. Khandelwal informed that e-lala will be purely a marketplace and will provide only technology platform for online shopping. Consumers will purchase merchandise directly from seller and will make payments also directly. So also the seller will handle all logistics and delivery mechanism. There will not be any interference of the portal in transactions, first time ever in India.

1500 people participated in Marathon for Diabetes Awareness

New Delhi, October 2015Hope and Helping hands Society and Noida Running Group in association with Curofy – doctors networking application organized the diabetes awareness run today at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Special Commissioner, Delhi Police, Mrs. Vimla Mehra hosted the flag for the race.
The marathon had 1500 participants in total with abut 100 doctors who participated to support the cause. Curofy ran a two week campaign to enroll doctors for the run by taking free registrations from doctors on their application. The marathon included Half Marathon, 11KM 6KM and walk for Diabetes Awareness.
Despite having hectic schedule, around 100 doctors turned up for the event. Curofy is proud to contribute towards fitness of these care providers.” said Mr Nipun Goyal, Co-founder, Curofy.
Sharing the experience, Dr. Rekha Khandelwal said,  “Being a diabetes patient I realise the importance of early detection and management. Regular exercise keeps me going and my diabetes under control. This run was a great event to raise awareness about diabetes”.
 
Further, Dr. Ila Jain commented, ” A pathologists job is to diagnose patients suffering from diabetes. Rarely do we get a chance to spread awareness. This event helped me reach out to so many people and educate them about diabetes”.
