ONE
This is incredible.
One of the world’s biggest leaders – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – just wrote you a letter.
On International Women’s Day, we asked all of you – men and women, students and grandparents, actors and entrepreneurs – to tell the world’s most powerful leaders that Poverty is Sexist.
And more than 200,000 ONE members around the world signed a letter recognising that sexism is global and that the fight against it should be, too.
Today, Prime Minister Trudeau answered back. “On behalf of the Government of Canada, I am writing back to let you know that I wholeheartedly agree: Poverty is Sexist…I accept your challenge to lead. As a feminist, I know that women must be treated equally everywhere.”

It’s something I hear a lot from folks: Why should I bother to add my name? Why should I sign a petition? What difference will it *really* make?
Well, today you can be proud knowing that your voice has made a huge difference to MILLIONS of girls and women around the world. But don’t just take my word for it…here’s what PM Trudeau said: “Please know that your voice has been heard and that the Government of Canada is taking action.” In fact, in just a few weeks, he’s hosting leaders from around the world to make sure girls and women everywhere have the tools they need to fight AIDS, TB and malaria with the Global Fund.
You made this happen. And we couldn’t be prouder to stand with you in this fight.
Off to share this stellar news with my friends and family, too!

Hillary is the only person I trust to continue this mission

Hillary is the only person I trust to continue this mission
Naresh, in the most difficult moments of the past eight years, you’ve carried me.
Through two tough campaigns, through battles for health care, Supreme Court appointments, and so much more, you’ve never wavered. You believed we could change this country for the better, so you picked up the phone, hit the streets, and used the internet in amazing new ways to make change happen. You are the best organizers on the planet, and I’m so proud of all the change you’ve made possible.
When I talk about the audacity of hope, I’m talking about you, Naresh. And today, I’m asking you to step up and carry Hillary across the finish line of this race and into the White House.
As my presidency draws to a close, I’m looking ahead to all the work we have to do in the years to come. We have to expand the Affordable Care Act so all Americans are finally covered. We need to raise wages for the middle class and make college a reality for all kids. We need to expand rights for people of all genders, faiths, races, backgrounds, and those who identify as LGBT so we can finally say that this is a nation where we are truly equal — not just in how we’re born, but in how we live.
Hillary is the only person I trust to continue this mission, and you’re the team I trust to make sure she wins the job. I’m looking forward to doing my part to help her win this election. Today, I’m asking you to join me — to reject cynicism, reject fear, to summon what’s best in us; to elect Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States, and show the world we still believe in the promise of this great nation.
Add your name right now to say you’ll volunteer and be part of it — we’re counting on you, Naresh:

Thanks,
Barack
We need to connect with every voter if we’re going to put Hillary in the White House. If you can’t give your time, chip in $1 to help us invest in our ground game:

Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) with support from UNICEF will initiate a discourse towards need for an access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation and proper hygiene at a round table in New Delhi followed by Ladakh Summit.

August 25, 2016. New Delhi::Over ten prominent religious voices from the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) in partnership with UNICEF will deliberate with editors and corporate leaders at a roundtable discourse and a summit meeting on Sarva Dharam Swachhta Sankalp: a pledge to spread the significance of cleanliness and sanitation among their followers in New Delhi .This will be followed by The GIWA Summit in Ladakh on August 29-30th 2016.

Partnership with religious communities for spreading critical messages on sanitation among their congregation can be effective in challenging attitudes and practices.

The Delhi roundtable session will deliberate on How Faith Leaders, Private Sector and Media can converge for WASH in India. Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati, President of Divine Shakti Foundation and Secretary-General of Global Interfaith WASH Alliance will preside the the sessions. The sessions will be attended by:

Faith Leaders
Swami Chidanand Saraswati (Parmarth Niketan), Maulana Kalbe Sadiq (Shia Scholar), Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji (Former Jathedar of the Akal Takht), Lama Lobzang (Secretary General of International Buddhist Confederation), Archbishop Dr. Anil JT Cuoto (Archbishop, Archdiocese of Delhi)
Corporate
Gayatri Subramaniam (IICA), Rajesh Kumar Sahijwani (IFFCO Tokio), Pratyush Panda (Head-CSR, ACC Ltd), Sudip Sinha (SR Vice President – Environment Projects, Stone India Ltd.)

The Ladakh Summit will be hosted at Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre and aims to initiate a dialogue on critical issues of WASH with special impetus on Ladakh region. The summit will discuss the interlinkage of multiple issues of inequity, inaccessibility and other related issues in the region, with focus on minority populations.

While being a remote and harsh region, LehLadakh is also identified as one of the Minority Concentration Districts by the Government of India, with socioeconomic statistics lower than the national average. It stands poorly on the national programs on sanitation and drinking water supply.
The Ladakh summit will bring together faith leaders, corporate leaders, media and the local population comprising of different religions. An estimated 500 people are expected to be present at the event where faith leaders from five prominent religions of India will come together.
