Wazir and Thangaraja share the lead on day one of Toyota 7th NCR Cup

6th March, New Delhi: Delhi’s Mohd. Wazir and Srilankan No. 1 Amateur Nadaraja Thangaraja both shot level par 72 to share the lead on day one of Toyota 7th NCR Cup at the Delhi Golf Club, Delhi. Patna’s Sahil Kumar Singh, Chandigarh’s Angad Cheema and local Honey Baisoya – all shot one-over 73 for the 2nd position to finish 3rd, 4th and 5threspectively while Noida’s Jasjeet Singh, Delhi duo Saurabh Bahuguna and Shubhankar Sharma tied for 6th place at 2-over 74. Kapurthala’s Ashbeer Singh Saini carded a round of 3-over 75 to end the day on 9th position.

Mohd. Wazir, who was inspired to pick up golf by his uncle Ali Sher in 1996, fired some brilliant birdies on 1st, 3rd, 8th and 18th while made bogeys at 2nd, 5th, 7th and 12th after getting hit by his partner’s ball on the 11th hole. The 27-year-old Wazir mentioned, “People started calling me second Ali Sher when I took this game and I also became no. 1 junior of the country. Unfortunately, I had to leave the game because of a fracture in my foot for 6 years but I am happy that I am back and hopefully will be turning pro by the end of this year and make my caddy father proud one day.”

Playing for the first time at the Delhi Golf Club, Thangaraja made the full use of his yesterday’s practice round experience while he returned with 2 birdies on 9th and 14th. A little confusion in reading the distance of fairways made Thangaraja hit two bogeys on 7th and 17th and he ended with level par round. After the round he said, “I got a fair idea of using the right clubs on this course yesterday so I was only using 3-wood or 4 – iron today while I always use the driver on other courses. Though, the greens are playing pretty tough for me, I am still confident of coming with an under-par score tomorrow.”

Angad Cheema, runners-up of last year’s NCR Cup, started off well as he hit a birdie on 5th, made 3 bogeys on the back nine on 10th, 14th and 16th while he birdied the finishing 18th hole to go in with a positive frame of mind in tomorrow’s round. He said, “I played very decent golf today but I realized one thing that if you miss one good tee shot on this course, you are going to drop atleast 2-3 bad shots.  I heard from other players that greens were quite bumpy four days ago but the course superintendent has done a great job to make it perfect for our level.”

In an international team championship played concurrently, the leading team was ONGC in which Angad Cheema (73) and Saurabh Bahuguna (74) played for the team total of 147 while Oil India became second which represented by Ashbeer Singh Saini (75) and Honey Baisoya (73) for the total of 148 in a tie along with PSPB in which Jasjeet Singh (74) and Gagan Verma (74) both totaled 148.

Sri Lanka was the best foreign team to finish with 5th position at 155. Portugal finished with at 162 for 8th position, Pakistan finished 10th at 167, Nepal was 13th at 172 and Korea was 14th at 187.

Waheed adds more Gayoom loyalists to Maldivian cabinet

Waheed adds more Gayoom loyalists to Maldivian cabinet

Maldivian President Mohamed Waheed on Monday picked up two more Gayoom-era officials to fill up the crucial cabinet berths of Foreign Affairs and Finance, even as the all-party talks to reconcile political differences and set out a future roadmap lay in shambles.
Waheed appointed Abdul Samad Abdulla, Maldives' envoy to Bangladesh during Maumoon Abdul Gayoom's time as the new Foreign Minister, and gave the finance portfolio to Abdulla Jihad, who earlier held the ministry as well as the position of the Central Bank governor during Gayoom's regime in 2008.
With the new appointments, former loyalists of the Gayoom regime now dominate Waheed's cabinet that also has the former dictator's daughter, Dhunya Maumoon as a State Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Waheed had earlier appointed former Justice Minister Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, as the Home Minister, and Mohamed Nazim, a former military officer under Gayoom, as his Minister of Defence and National Security.
He also chose Gayoom's spokesperson, Mohamed Hussain Shareef as his Minister for Human Resources, Youth and Sports and made Gayoom's lawyer, Azima Shakoor, as the Attorney General.
The appointments came at time when differences are widening between the government supporters and those of ousted president Mohamed Nasheed, with the all party talks to take forward an India-brokered deal lying suspended.
At the moment, major parties who are part of the talks have withdrawn their representatives after the Maldivian Democratic Party's lawmakers disrupted parliament and prevented the president from deliver his address last week.
With the coordinator of the talks leaving the country on a private trip, the talks have been temporarily suspended, the Secretariat announced yesterday.
MDP leaders meanwhile are threatening the government that they will paralyse its functioning unless the government gives a date for the presidential elections.
Under an India-brokered deal, the Waheed government had agreed to hold an early election in line with Nasheed's demand.
Nasheed told his supporters today that he would not allow the Majlis to function until a date for the presidential elections is finalised.
During the early hours of the day today, some MDP supporters tried to enter a high security zone, trying to make their way to official residence of President Waheed.
Incidents of arson and protest are still being reported in the capital Male. On Saturday night, some people tried to set ablaze two different police sub posts.
A marathon protest by MDP workers is continuing from the 17th of last month at the Tsunami monument, where MDP leaders address the protesters every night, repeating their demands for an early election and resignation of the president.
Leader of the Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP), Ahmed Thasmeen Ali, said he hoped the Speaker of Majlis will convene a session for so that the President can deliver his presidential address, if if it means using security measures.
Meanwhile, the Maldives' Police promoted its Assistant Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed to the post of Deputy Commissioner while the Maldives National Defense Force promoted Brigadier General Ahmed Mohamed, to the rank of Vice Chief of Staff.
The DCP rank at Maldives Police Service was vacant after the events of February 7 when Nasheed was ousted and the former Vice Chief of Staff of MNDF had retired last week.
an Indians Dream of $200Trillion Exports In 2012-2050? (C)

Honorable Dr. Manmohan Singh,
Prime Minister of India,
South Block – 110011
March06, 2012

Copy to honorable Members of Parliament

Sir,
In just three years 2008-2011 China doubled its exports – it is obvious China 2012-2050 shall export over $200Trillion to $500Trillion considering the R&D spend and support of the Government. There are only two things that could Retard this growth – Either Political Disturbance or Rise of India.

Foreign Investors Always preferred India Billion+ Easily Accessible market but India didn’t WELCOME foreign investment in all sectors, even in manufacturing when India was producing just 50,000 cars shared by three companies in their Second Hand plants.

Only Keys to prosperity is Empowerment of People – Funding Their Needs, Protecting Their Immovable and Intellectual Properties and let all of them Create Wealth to Their Best of Abilities.

Four things that FAVOR India in Global Manufacturing Competition are –

5 Million Patents – High Value Technology

1.]  India can absorb Patented Technologies equally fast compared to China – English language advantage. While China is investing on Own Research & Development presently – India can collaborate with all IPR holding companies and share Commercial Gains.

Ø      Technologies world needs in 2015 or 2020 or 2050 are Under Commercialization, Invented Are Under R&D Program and Yet to Be Invented respectively.

Ø      So India has Opportunity to Catch Up very fast graduating to High Value Technologies in one step with Open Minded and Collaborative Approach and Liberal Economic Policies for both Inward and Outward investment freedom.

Ø      Protect every Invention Big and Small though Patents and Utility Model.

$25Trillion to $500Trillion Immovable Wealth by 2050

2.]  Indians own Immovable Properties in their name that is more valuable than China – Just 50 million homes at average cost of $0.1m is $5Trillion and similarly 160 million hectares of farm land at $0.1m per hectare is $16Trillion, just these two add up to $21Trillion but this Huge Wealth is not leveraged to the advantage of 99% of owners - Farmers, SMEs etc. China has no Real Ownership concept.

Ø      Productivity of our farms can be substantially increased therefore value of farmland. Productivity in China has peaked. This shall further Boost value of our Immovable Properties.

Ø      India can Switch to FDI in Our Economy and Foreign Investments to BOOST Two Way Investments other than just Trade in Goods and Services for China.

Democracy, Global Culture & Integration

3.]  India has Exclusive advantage as home to All Worlds Religion & Cultures – Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism flourished for thousands of years – Sikhism and Sufism also have over 500 years history. So India Integrates Well With All World Cultures but not easy in China.

Ø      Democracy itself is a BIG Advantage – India accommodates Concerns of Friendly Countries and assert own rights when required.

Ø      Indian Democracy is flexible in changing Rules and Laws to favor Economic Progress. India can be Trusted at all the times.

Ø      Indian Judiciary is INDEPENDENT though inefficient but can be made World’s Best – just we need to involve ‘Public in All Matters of Public Concern’ – over night Indian judiciary can be the Best in the World.

4. Level Country, Comfortable Weather – Year Round Sunshine

India has Mild weather just around average Human Body temperature. India can have comfortable living conditions cheaply – use Solar Energy more productively.

Ø      Mostly flat India could Upgrade Infrastructure at lower cost.

ACTION PLAN

a.]  Protect Every single Intellectual Property and Promote Indian Inventors. Promoting Latest Technologies.

b.]  India should facilitate Foreign Investment in all sectors except Defense.

c.]  DEMAT all Immovable Properties.

d.]  Abolish all RENT laws and Protect Ownership of properties.

e.] Introduce Quality and Standardization.

India can achieve $200Trillion exports target 2012-2050. Upgrade Infrastructure and Services to World’s Best Standards.

Thank you,

Sincerely,
