HOW ART MADE THE WORLD
A film by Francis Whately, Ben McPherson, Martin Wilson and Nick Murphy, 290 minutes

Why does our world look like it does? That great modern mystery is spectacularly unravelled in this international landmark series, an epic quest across five continents and 100,000 years- via some of the greatest treasures of the ancient world- to the heart of human creativity. This is your invitation to see the world from an utterly new perspective. How Art Made the World reveals how the first big artistic discoveries were made and how they have cascaded down the centuries to define the look of the present day. Encompassing everything from cave paintings to ceramics and pyramids to palaces, the series probes the global trend for unrealistic depictions of the human body; the secret powers of the feature film; how politicians manage to manipulate people so easily; visions of death and the afterlife; and, crucially, why we use imagery at all.Beautiful, surprising, and compelling, this awe-inspiring adventure is not only for art lovers but for anyone who has ever wondered about our place in the world..

SCIENCE OF MIND
by H.H.THE 17 KARMAPA, Ogyen Trinley Dorje
His Holiness the 17 Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, heads the 900-year-old Karma Kagyü school of Tibetan Buddhism. He guides millions of Buddhists around the world. At the age of 14, he made a dramatic escape from Tibet to India to be near His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his own lineage teachers. Currently 29 years old, the Karmapa created an eco-monastic movement with over 55 monasteries across the Himalayas acting as centres of green activism. He recently announced plans to establish full ordination for women, a step that will change the future of Tibetan Buddhism. His latest book, The Heart is Noble: Changing the World from the Inside Out, is based on his interactions with American university students.
Foundation for Universal Responsibility is proud to host HH The Karmapa for the 6th time in Delhi, providing a platform to engage with common people. We believe that dialogue is important at various levels in the society. With this programme, we hope to learn from ancient wisdom to lead a happy and content life in this fast and modern world.
The venue will have limited seating. We suggest you register for the programme by sending an email at the aforementioned email address. This event will be streamed live, and it will be posted on the Karmapa’s YouTube channel for later viewing. Please click here for more information.

DEALING WITH DESTRUCTIVE EMOTIONS
based on CHAPTER IV – CAREFULNESS (Shantideva’s Bodhicharyavatara)
by Ven. Geshe Lhakdor

Geshe Lhakdor will also be available for personal interviews and consultations on the days of the workshop by prior appointment.
Ven. Geshe Lhakdor has served His Holiness the Dalai Lama as his translator and religious assistant since 1989. In this capacity he has accompanied His Holiness to many important conferences and forums throughout the world. He has translated numerous books by His Holiness from English to Tibetan and from Tibetan to English. Geshe Lhakdor is a trustee of the Foundation for Universal Responsibility, established by His Holiness. He is also the Director of the Central Archive of His Holiness, a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Tibetan Classics in Montreal, Canada, and an Honorary Professor at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is now the Director of the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives and Head of the Science Education Project.
The Foundation for Universal Responsibility celebrates the 9th year of its association with Ven. Geshe Lhakdor. Based on the common introductory remarks by His Holiness the Dalai Lama that ‘…every human being wants happiness and does not want suffering..’, we believe that this platform is one small step towards learning from the ancient wisdom for leading a happy and content life in this busy and chaotic modern world.
The venue will have limited seating. We suggest you register for the programme by sending an email at the aforementioned email address.

INNER HARMONY
Learning from the Buddhist Spirit
(A rare and intimate collection of photographs of Buddhist Monastics from the throughout the world)

by Jon Kolkin

(internationally recognized, award-wining artist and speaker)

Inner Harmony… Learning from the Buddhist Spirit strives to highlight the importance of looking inward in our quest for peace and wellbeing, rather than expecting it to come from external sources. Buddhist monks and nuns are particularly adept at adhering to this principle. Consequently, in this series Jon Kolkin attempts to photographically capture the spirit of what he senses exists in the minds of these devout individuals rather than simply trying to document their external appearance and surroundings.
More specifically, Inner Harmony is an exceedingly rare body of work, consisting of intimate Palladium print photographs taken during his multiple extended stays in India, Bhutan, China, and Myanmar.  This has been achieved by living in close proximity to these individuals for 21 years while doing humanitarian work in underserved countries and being extended the honor of photographing them.
You are most welcome to enjoy these photographs, specially installed in Delhi in collaboration with the India International Centre and Jon Kolkin. You may also listen to him about his extraordinary experience in this photographic journey for so many years. Please see the information below.
