GOVERNMENT HAS TAKEN SEVERAL MEASURES TO ATTRACT INVESTMENTS, SAYS SHRI RAJNATH SINGH

Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh has said that the Government has taken a series of measures to attract investments with special focus on providing an impetus to the manufacturing sector. Addressing the gathering at the 'Vibrant Gujarat' Summit in Gandhinagar today, Shri Rajnath Singh that the Government has also moved ahead with putting in place the regulatory clearance systems that are business friendly. To this end, efforts are currently on to integrate a number of central and state services with the e-Biz portal, he added.
The Union Home Minister said that the 'Vibrant Gujarat' Summit is not just about investments, it is about injecting positivity in the economic environment. Shri Rajnath Singh said that the event is about bringing Global and Local inclusiveness in our economic processes. Encouraging the entrepreneurs to invest in India, he said the Government wants to know what more it needs to do to accelerate the pace of development of industry and business in the country.
Shri Rajnath Singh said that the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has changed the political idiom and political discourse in the country. Now everyone is talking about good governance and development in the country, he remarked. The Union Home Minister said that Gujarat is not only a 'Land of Opportunities' but also a 'Mother of Opportunities'. Shri Rajnath Singh said that Gujarat has made rapid strides in improving its physical and social infrastructure and has proved to be the growth engine of modern India. Over the years this Summit has transformed itself from an Investment Promotion Exercise into a Growth Propelling Event, he added.
Highlighting the role of Mahatma Gandhi in India's freedom struggle, the Union Home Minister said that Gujarat has given birth to many great personalities. Shri Rajnath Singh hailed the role of Sardar Patel in uniting the country and ensuring the integrity of the nation.
Noting that the six 'Vibrant Gujarat' summits held so far have been a resounding success, Shri Rajnath Singh said that the event has contributed to transformation of Gujarat into a global business hub.
Thirty one Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were inked in various
fields on the inaugural day of the 7th Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors
Summit in Gandhinagar yesterday.
This was announced by Additional Chief Secretary of the Education
Department in the Gujarat Government Arvind Agrawal last evening.
Addressing media persons, he said, a major MoU was signed between World
Bank, Government of India and the Gujarat Government, according to which
the World bank will support Gujarat in the ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ or
cleanliness mission, and build smart cities.
An official release issued last evening said, other key MoUs were
signed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited for rail systems and Indo-Chin
Development Private Ltd. for a trade centre.
In the theme Seminar, ‘Gujarat: preferred hub for defense production’,
as many as 11 MoUs were signed. One of the MoUs included Adani
Enterprise’s interest to develop integrated solar PV manufacturing
cluster and Narmada Bio-chem to produce organic and inorganic
12 MoUs were signed in the field of innovation in food processing for sustaining food security.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 3-day summit yesterday
which saw the presence of many world leaders, including UN
Secretary-General Ban-ki Moon and US Secretary of State John Kerry.
In his address, Mr Modi called for sustainable and inclusive growth
to minimise fluctuations in the global economy. He promised to make
India easiest place to do business. Mr Modi also held seperate bilateral
meetings with top world and corporate leaders. The World leaders lauded
Mr Modi’s leadership and vision.
Israel will start centres of excellence for farmers in India to
encourage research in agriculture sector and for the growth of animal
The Minister of Agriculture in Israel, Yair Shamir told reporters in
Gandhinagar yesterday on the sidelines of Vibrant Gujarat Global
Summit-2015. He said, Israel was likely to open these centres in the
states of Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar
and West Bengal.
Shamir said, his country was replying upon Prime Minister Narendra
Modi’s appeal for white revolution in India. Israel also wants to help
INdia to fight against hunger and to provide ample food security by
providing some good researches in agriculture sector, he added.
