Weekend festival to launch Harlech’s new £2 million holiday home park

Mumbai, 22nd June, 2016: The organisers of the inaugural Harlech Caravan and Lodge Festival from July 22-24 are hoping to attract thousands of visitors to the seaside resort.

The festival, which will include a range of family entertainment, has been organised to officially launch a new £2 million caravan holiday home park in the town.

Castle View Holiday Home Park occupies a prime position, nestling between the town and its beautiful, sandy beach with Harlech Castle as a majestic backdrop and with Royal St David’s Golf Club and Harlech Railway Station nearby.

The park has pitches for 60 caravan holiday homes and is already proving popular with owners from Shropshire, the West Midlands and North West England.

Visitors to the festival, which is being held on the adjacent Min-y-Don Holiday Park, will be treated to live music, a knights battle re-enactment and a programme of events taking in local attractions from 10am to 4pm each day.

There will be tours of St David’s Golf Course, Harlech Castle, Castle View and Min-y-Don Holiday Parks as well as foraging on the beach with Jade Mellor of Wild Pickings, a climbing wall and archery.

Money raised at the festival in donations will be shared between Wales Air Ambulance and Harlech Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre.

“This will be the first festival of this type held in Harlech and local people are giving their support because it will attract thousands of visitors to the town over the weekend,” said the organiser, Ed Glover, assistant marketing manager of Salop Leisure. “There is already talk of establishing an annual festival going forward.

“The festival is an ideal chance for people to enjoy what’s on offer in the beautiful town of Harlech and also to view two of the finest holiday home parks in the UK in a fantastic location. Today’s discerning customers insist on the highest quality in terms of the park and its location and we believe that demand for caravan holiday homes is going to be exceptional in the forthcoming years.

Added attractions for visitors are two sculptures, which have been installed on the parks. A spectacular Welsh dragon sculpture welcomes visitors to Castle View, while a giant eagle sculpture has landed at Min-y-Don Holiday Park

The sculptures were made by Marche Studios at Ford, near Shrewsbury who have already made another eagle, which guards the entrance to Morben Isaf Holiday Home and Touring Park, near Machynlleth and a leaping salmon and oak tree for Seven Oaks Holiday Home Park at Crew Green, near Shrewsbury.
