VHP protest against attacks on Hindus in J&K

VHP protest against attacks on Hindus in J&K.
Burn effigy of state Governor NN Vohra.
New Delhi March 09, 2012. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal
today held protest march and burn effigy of J&K Governor shri NN Vohra
against recent attacks on Hindus in Rajauri, booking them in false
cases and Cutting in shri Amarnath Yatra duration for the year 2012.
VHP alleged that the J&K Governor and its state chief minister are
taking decisions on the pressure of anti national elements & terror
groups and terrorizing Hindus living in the border districts of the
state instead of protecting their life & livelihood. Addressing the
protesters in New Delhi, member central advisory board of VHP shri BL
Sharma Prem asked whether hindus have no right to practice their
religion in the state? Why the religious precession was attacked in
Rajauri by the anti national elements in front of the administration?
Instead of detaining attackers police arrested hindus? He demanded
immediate release of those detained in false cases, withdrawal of
false FIRs lodged and restoration of Amarnath yarta duration atleast
for two months.
VHP state Media chief shri Vinod Bansal said we were watching the
situation of Rajauri since last Monday but the state machinery kept
mum on any action against anti nationals. We surprised to note that
instead of taking any action against the attackers, police booked
hindus, at the behest of those elements. Today we burn effigy of the
state Governor in protest against his repeated interference in Hindus
religious affairs by curtailing Amaranath Yatra duration and not
protecting life and property of Hindus living in border areas. Today’s
protest is symbolic but if the governor do not turn up, we may extend
this protest to the whole country. We are determine to go ahead with
shri Amaranth Yatra from 4th of June (Jyesth Poornima), he added.
The protestors were also addressed by the state VHP president shri
Swadesh Pal Gupta, vice president shri Mahaveer Prasad Gupta, General
secretary shri Styendra Mohan, secretary Sailendra Jaiswal, Bajarang
dal chief shri Shiv Kumar etc
