PM Modi to launch ‘Power for all’ scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘Power for all’ scheme today to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Official sources said that the scheme will be named ‘Saubhagya’ and will provide subsidy on equipment like transformers, meters and wires.
The scheme is expected to cover all rural families after expected electrification of all villages by December end this year. The scheme was listed on the agenda of Cabinet meeting held earlier last week.
Centre has asked states to prepare electrification projects which would be discussed and approved for release of funds under the scheme. The government has been working hard to electrify all villages in the country and wants to achieve 24X7 power for all by 2019.
Prime Minister will also formally inaugurate ONGC’s new corporate office that was renamed Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Urja Bhawan, from Rajiv Gandhi Urja Bhawan.
The green-building built at a cost of Rs. 600 crore was completed a year ago. Mr Modi will also unveil a statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

Four member committee to probe BHU incidents

Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik has said that a four member committee under chairmanship of Chief Secretary has been set up to probe into the Banaras Hindu University BHU series of incidents and actions will be taken on the basis of probe committee report.
Talking to media persons this morning at Lucknow after offering floral tributes to RSS ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya on his 100th birth anniversary Mr Naik criticised police lathi charge against the students and termed it a serious incident. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sought reports from Varanasi Commissioner about police lathi charge on students and injury to journalists.
AIR Lucknow correspondent reports Students and political parties` protests against the police lathi charge on students especially girls are still continuing at BHU. Workers of Samajwadi Party today demonstrated at BHU gate this morning but they were not allowed to enter into the campus.
An Additional City Magistrate, Circle Officer Bhelupur and SHO Lanka police station have been removed. Police has arrested 16 students last night from the campus siting on Dharana.
Police has lodged FIR against 1000 unidentified students for violence and arson on the report of BHU administration. Four FIRs have been lodged in connection with BHU agitation including an FIR under IT act for spreading rumour on social media.
All educational institutions in Varanasi including Kashi Vidya Peeth and Sampurnanand Sanskrit University have also been closed till October 2 in view of tension caused of BHU students agitation. BHU has already been closed till October 2 following students’ agitation.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ABVP has also organised Dharana against the police lathi charge on students. They have also demanded removal of Vice Chancellor. Students organised Dharana near Birla hostel and took out procession last night seeking removal of Vice Chancellor Prof Girish Chandra Tripathi.

Chancellor Angela Merkel clinched a fourth term in Germany’s election while exit polls also predicted the historic entry of the hard-right nationalist party, AfD, in the national parliament by winning its first seats. Angela Merkel said German to Work for legal Migrant and stop illegal Migrant and will Work for prosperity .We work for EU consolidation.
According to the exit polls, Merkel, who after 12 years in power held a double-digit lead for most of the campaign, scored around 33 per cent of the vote with her conservative Christian Union (CDU-CSU) bloc. Its nearest rivals, the Social Democrats and their candidate Martin Schulz, came in a distant second, with a post-war record low 20-21 per cent. The BBC showed following exits polls-:CDU/CDU 32.3℅ SPD, 20.8℅, Left Party 9 ℅, FDP 10.5℅, AfD 13℅ Greens 8.9℅ Others 4.8℅ German moves right Angela won but lost her party base, those  Smaller parties thus gain.
SPD concede heavy defeats: Weidel said, Respect the results : Smaller parties to gain Exit polls:SPD no grand alliance.Angela said we need study AFD shift.
Commentators called the AfD’s strong performance a watershed moment in the history of the German republic. The top-selling Bild daily called it a political earthquake.
Supporters gathered at the AfD party headquarters in Berlin cheered as public television reported the outcome, many joining in a chorus of the German national anthem.
Merkel basked in her win but admitted that she had fallen far short of the 40-per cent goal her party set. She said, there is a big new challenge for her coalition, and that is the entry of the AfD in the Bundestag. She adding they want to win back AfD voters.
