Aadhaar cards,needed Sr citizens for concessions on train ticket

From 1st of April next year, reservation of rail tickets for senior citizens will be directly linked to Aadhaar or Unique Identification cards on a mandatory basis for availing concessions at both counter and e-tickets. However, such a requirement will be optional from next month till March.
Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), AK Manocha said, it is a salutary measure designed to streamline the reservation process for people in such a category. He said, it is a most ambitious push to Aadhaar-based ecosystem in Indian Railways network that would end fraudulent bookings and curb cases of impersonation.

Manoj Bajpai whose film Budhia Singh: Born to Run will be premiered at the festival talking about his choice of films he said “Box Office collection is different thing but you should definitely pull off the character which you believes in. Eventually that’s not going to work for the people and the industry as they will consider you for their film not because of the talent but because of the business your last film has done”
“My film Aligarh was screened in Paris and there was chaos outside the theatre and was packed and they were all french people willing to watch the film. It is the audience’s choice what they want to see and what not” he further added.
The festival started with the opening film ‘HEIDI’ directd by Alain Gsponer followed by ‘THE TRAP: OTTAL’ directed by jayaraaj. The festival also saw a special Art Design Workshop’ conducted by Sukant Panigrahy. famous for DEV D, Chak De India, Aaja Nachle and more.
Mirziyaan actress Siyami Kher said “I feel children catch up things easily. They should watch such films that will last an impact on them. It is a great initiative as they will enjoy and learn at the same time”
Jitendra Mishra, Director of SIFFCY speaking about the festival said “This time we have introduced Yellow Carpet which will feature the biggest films from India that are internationally acclaimed but are not so popular in India. Children should watch such kind of films and these will definitely teach them something”
Associted with Emar Events and Book a Smile: An initiative by BookMyShow.com, SIFFCY this time will premiere 100 films from 50 countries along with live workshops on film making, photography and loads of other fun activities at Sirifort Auditorium from December 5-11, morning 9 am to 6 pm.

Jayalalithaa demise,One day national mourning

Deeply saddened at the passing away of Selvi Jayalalithaa. Her demise has left a huge void in Indian politics.
Jayalalithaa ji’s connect with citizens, concern for welfare of the poor, the women & marginalized will always be a source of inspiration.
My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Tamil Nadu in this hour of grief. May the Almighty grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss with courage and fortitude.
I will always cherish the innumerable occasions when I had the opportunity to interact with Jayalalithaa ji. May her soul rest in peace.

She held Press Conference with her parliamentarians in 2014-15 in Hotel Hyatt New Delhi. Where in She asked her colleagues to pay  respect to Sr Journo and I was amazed.
Central government has declared a one-day mourning on death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. It has also decided to accord state funeral to the departed leader. National Flags at all government buildings are flying at half mast. All the ceremonial functions have been cancelled.
The Tamil Nadu government has also announced a seven-day state mourning. The state government also declared a three-day holiday for all educational institutions.
The 68-year old AIADMK Chief , who had suffered cardiac arrest on Sunday evening, breathed her last at 11:30 last night at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai. She was admitted to the hospital on the 22nd of September following complaints of fever and dehydration.
Following her demise, Ms Jayalalithaa’s body was taken to her Poes Garden residence before being taken to Rajaji Hall. Lakhs of people from all walks of life are paying their last respects to the departed soul. The police have been streamlining the swarming crowd with great difficulty.
The last rites will be performed at MGR Memorial in Marina beach area of Chennai at 4.30 PM today. Meanwhile, arrangements are in place at the MGR memorial.
AIADMK Chief’s loyalist O Panneerselvam was sworn-in as the Chief Minister at a sombre ceremony at Raj Bhawan along with all the ministers in the erstwhile Jayalalithaa Cabinet. AIADMK MLAs met at the party headquarters to elect Mr Panneerselvam as the successor to Ms Jayalalithaa.

Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned for the day today as a mark of respect to J. Jayalalithaa, who passed away in Chennai last night. In her obituary reference, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumithra Mahajan described Jayalalithaa as a true leader of the masses and a multifaceted personality. She said, in her demise, the country has lost a highly popular and eminent public persona.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohd Hamid Ansari said, the country has lost a prominent leader, a distinguished parliamentarian and an able administrator. He said, as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, her contributions towards the economic development of the state and social welfare of the poorer segments will be remembered long and cherished. Mr Ansari said, her demise is an irreparable loss to the people of India. Members in both the Houses observed silence to pay homage to the memory of the departed leader.
Jayalalithaa was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1984 to 1989.

It is tragic. It is painful. She was a woman of dignity and self – respect. We shared a warm personal relationship.
Chief Minister  expressed grief and described ’s demise as a national loss.
