Forces encounter terrorist inPampore

J&K force em battling to flush out terrorists  in combating one soldier was injured when armed men opened fire near a government building in Pampore in Kashmir today Monday morning.The attack took place near the ADI building where police and the armed men engaged in crossfire, Indian media reported.Fire broke out in the building following the attack and a fire brigade has been dispatched to the site.Police has cordoned off the area as per broadcasters version.Pampore in Kashmir, an encounter broke out between militants and security forces inside a government building in Pampore this morning. Two to three militants are believed to have entered the building of Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) in the wee hours today and fired upon the security forces triggering an encounter.
Quoting a Defence Spokesman, news agency PTI reports that a soldier has been injured in the exchange of fire. The firing was going on, when reports last came in, and a portion of the building has caught fire. The operation to flush out the militants is in progress.
Traffic was temporarily suspended on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway. Militants had targeted the EDI building in February this year as well. Two soldiers and an employee of the institute were killed in that operation. Three militants were gunned down.Media agencies

Georgia elects bi-partisan parliament

Two political parties, the ruling Georgian Dream and the opposition United National Movement of former President Mikhail Saakashvili, will form part of the new parliament of Georgia elected under a proportional system, Central Election Commission reported after counting 99 percent of ballots. The ruling party garnered over 48 percent of the votes, while the opposition was supported by 27 percent of voters. The Alliance of Georgian Patriots won just under 5 percent, the benchmark required to get seats in the Georgian parliament. Parties take 77 seats of the 150-seat legislature, with the remaining 73 distributed through a plurality voting system. A second round will be held in most of Georgia’s constituencies, according to the preliminary results.

Police in Germany capture ‘bomb plot’ suspect

German police confirmed that they have captured a man suspected of plotting a bomb attack for whom they have been searching for several days. “Tired but overjoyed: we captured the terror suspect last night in Leipzig,” Saxony state police wrote on Twitter. Jaber Albakr from Syria has been living in Germany since 2015 and has been officially recognized as a refugee. Police launched a large-scale operation to capture him on Saturday after traces of explosives were found in his apartment in the city of Chemnitz. Police also confirmed that he was “known” to German intelligence.
