Will Indian Farmers Income Double or Half in Five Years?
April13, 2016 (C) Ravinder Singh ravinderinvent@gmail.com
When GDP growth in India is recorded at 7% or more and Farmers Real
Income is Negative in drought years – we don’t even consider Deaths of
Farm Animals in Drought, Re-boring of Tube-wells, Income Loss to
Farmers in Drought Year or Crop Loss but Moneylenders Profits Triple
or Quadruple, Farmers Pay 4-10 Times for Foods & Water normally
available at farms.

Farmers are not allowed to STORE, PROCESS & MARKET their produce, when
GoI reports GDP Contribution of Agriculture at 17% Farming GDP is
barely 10% or even less, But Help Traders/Moneylenders Easy Access to

GoI has not increased MSP even as Pay Commissions had raised INCOME of
public servants by 100 times when MSP has increased by 15 times in 40
years and Cost of Farming – i.e. Diesel has gone up 100 Times >>

Thus Instead of Doubling of Farmers Income in Five Years – Real Income
of Indian farmers could half in five years.
NOTHING IN THE BUDGET-FY17 TO INCREASE FARM INCOME
We are MISLED into believing GoI has given Farmers BIG Package

How had electrification of 5000 Villages in last 2 Years benefitted 6,00,000
Villages? Roads, Highways, Ponds, National Waterways, Land Records, E-
Procurement, Urban Garbage etc are not going to increase Income of Farmers?

Forget Irrigation Ponds, Dams and Water Supply Schemes already built can’t
provide CLEAN Drinking Water to 80% Population in India.

COLD CHAIN, FDI in Food Retail, Ripening Chambers Will Not Be Owned By
FARMERS, will actually PROFIT MARGINS OF TRADERS.

Instead of GM Seeds which DOUBLE Crop Yields like in BT Cotton are not
supported but Farmers URGED to adopt ORGANIC & Traditional Farming
this actually MEANS Low Yields & produce for URBAN & FOREIGN Markets.

UNIFIED AGRICULTURAL MARKETING ACTUALLY MEANS AMBANI
& ADANI CAN BUY ANY OR ALL FARM PRODUCE FROM THEIR OFFICE.

WHY CAN’T GoI THINK OF UNIFIED FARMERS MARKET WHERE FARMERS GET PAID
50%-70% OF RETAIL VALUE OF FARM PRODUCE?
