Iraqi troops retake key oil refinery Beiji from ISIS
Iraqi government troops backed by Shiite militia fighters have driven out Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants from a key oil refinery north of Baghdad, AP reported officials as saying on Friday. The Beiji refinery and nearby Siniya town were retaken, the Joint Military Command said, without giving details of the wide-scale military operation. The refinery, Iraq’s largest, has been idle since June last year. It remained contested after the town of Beiji, about 250km north of Baghdad, fell to IS during its blitz across northern Iraq a year ago. The town lies on the road to IS-held Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city.

Mass exodus of Islamic State militants in Syria have become discontent with their command and deserted the ranks of the militant group amid the Russian anti-terror operation, Moscow’s Defense Ministry said on Friday.
“The majority of armed gangs are demoralized. Discontent with field commanders is growing amid the fighters, and there are instances of disobeying orders,” senior Russian General Andrey Kartapolov told a media briefing.
Cases of desertion among the jihadists are no longer isolated, with them now fleeing “en masse,” the colonel general, who heads operations in the Russian general staff, added.RT News

In two separate horrific incidents, two minors were gang raped in the national capital.

A two-and-a-half-year girl was kidnapped from a Ram Lila program in Nangloi area and allegedly gang raped.Meanwhile, in Anand Vihar, a 5-year-old girl was gang raped and the police have arrested three accused, who were beaten up by the locals.
Both the victims have been admitted to the hospital.
Reacting to the incident, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that repeated rapes were shameful and worrying.
He also said that Delhi police has completely failed to provide safety.
The Chief Minister visited GTB hospital, where one of the victims is admitted.
