Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has removed Food Minister Asim Ahmad Khan from his cabinet following the complaint of corruption against him.
Announcing this at a press conference in New Delhi, Mr. Kejriwal said the case has been referred to CBI.
He said AAP government will not tolerate corruption no matter who is involved.
BJP and Congress have cornered Aam Aadmi Party on corruption issue, even as Delhi Minister Asim Ahmad Khan was sacked by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said Mr. Kejriwal was left with no option but to sack the Minister as serious charges were levelled against him.
Taking a dig at AAP, he said the party came into existence to provide an alternative politics, but its leaders are facing all sorts of charges.
Delhi Congress Chief Ajay Maken said one third of AAP’s Ministers are facing corruption charges in less than eight months party rule. He questioned what will happen to all those files the sacked Minister had signed during his tenure.
