Exhibition „Brno / the city of Bauhaus Spirit“ portrays functionalist buildings in Brno, second largest city of the Czech Republic, from the period 1918 – 1938 under the influence by Bauhaus style. The main architects of the period are Ernst Wiesner, Bohuslav Fuchs, Josef Kranza or Bedřich Rozehnal who managed to implement modern design into Brno city architecture. Exhibition presents the most important sites of the functionalist architecture of the City of Brno – villa TUGENDHAT and villa STIASSNI. The Brno Architecture Trails is a joint project by the City of Brno and the House of Arts of Brno with financial support from European Regional Development Funds.  Brno Exhibition Centre ranks among the largest exhibition centres in Europe (23rd in the world). The complex opened in 1928 and established the tradition of large exhibitions and trade fairs held in Brno.
For this reason, the Embassy of the Czech Republic decided to present the exhibition “Czech Brno”.The exhibition “Czech Castles” is organised by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi, in collaboration with the CEPT University Ahmedabad.
The exhibition „Czech Brno “has been presented with huge success in several cities in India and other countries, for instance in Chandigarh (Chandigarh College of Architecture).
In Chandigarh, the Exhibition was officially inaugurated by Professor Predeep Bhagat (Principal Chandigarh college of Architecture and His Excellency Miloslav Stašek (Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India) at the Chandigarh College of Architecture – in Chandigarh on February 26, 2014.  The Exhibition stayed in the Chandigarh College of Architecture until March 23, 2014, and was visited by 1-2 thousand visitors daily.
This time, the exhibition „ Czech Brno “will attract the audience in the CEPT University in Ahmedabad from October 09, 2014, until October 15, 2014. The Exhibition will be inaugurated on October 09, 2014, at 18:00 Hrs., in CEPT University in Ahmedabad by Dr. Bimal Patel, The president of CEPT University, Professor Vladimir Slapeta , Dean Emeritus of the Department of Architecture  and Mrs. Andrea Kucerova , Deputy head of Mission/Political Affairs Embassy of the Czech republic in New Delhi.
The exhibition “Czech Brno” is organized within the greatest cultural project ever performed by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in India called “2014 – The Year of Czech Culture in India”, that encompasses broad promotion campaign to highlight the Czech Republic as a country of immensely rich history and culture and also highly attractive touristic destination in the heart of Europe. As part of “2014 – The Year of Czech Culture in India” project, the Embassy of the Czech Republic presents series of exhibitions, concerts, theatre shows, food festivals, film screenings and other cultural events in India.
