Dear friends,

Warm Greetings from Wada Na Todo Abhiyan!

Today, 18th August marks an important date. It marks the beginning of the final 500 days for fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Thousands of people from around the world are coming together to ask their Governments toend inequality, injustice and insecurity and fulfill the MDGs within time - as a part of the global#Act2015 campaign. They are also building pressure on the United Nations to renew the MDGs, make them more realistic and the Governments more accountable.

In India, Wada Na Todo Abhiyan along with several civil society organizations in India will engage with the general public and the United Nations to talk about and build a conversation around the 500 day period and the importance for the same. These organizations will participate in a 12 hour (9a.m. to 9 p.m.) tweet-a-thon (a twitter marathon) to tweet about the importance of the 500 days on 18th of August and engage in a deeper and more prolonged conversation around the Millennium Development Goals.

Please find attached a media release on the same. We request you to put this up in your respective media agency. Would highly appreciate your cooperation and involvement.

Best,
Saswati
