Rishabh Dhrall helps Salwan Boys Senior Sec. School Delhi beat Shreyas Samarpan Vidyalay, Baroda


Mumbai, 14th April 2014: Salwan Boys Senior Sec. School, Delhi defeated Shreyas Samarpan Vidyalay, Baroda by a colossal 106 runs in the exciting opening match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup Inter-State Challenge 2014, played at Islam Gymkhana Ground.

Winning the toss, Shreyas Samarpan School, Baroda opted to bowl first. The decision did not go well for the boys from Baroda as the Delhi team played a remarkable innings, making 236 runs in 44.3 overs. Rishabh Dhrall took the charge along with teammate Sahil Khatri to take the team to a highly respectable total. Rishabh and Sahil were the top scorers for the team, both scoring 46 and 36 runs respectively. Shivam Chauhan also contributed valuable 34 runs.

Karan Pawar from Shreyas Samarpan School, Baroda displayed an excellent bowling performance by taking three valuable wickets. He was supported by teammates Amrit Lubana and Sourine Thakkar as both took two wickets each. The team’s bowling attack was appreciable but Salwan cruised its way to score a massive total before getting out with 3 balls to spare.

In its chase, the Shreyas Samarpan Vidyalay batting line-up appeared unconfident in comparison and the trio of Bharat Shankar, Prashant Vaishth and Sahil Khatri from Salwan School, Delhi took 3 wickets each to end Samarpan’s proceedings at 130 runs in 35 overs.
Sahil Khatri was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.

In another match, Sports College, Lucknow beat AVR E Techno School, Vijayawada by a huge margin of 230 runs. While batting first Sports College, Lucknow scored 315 for three wickets in 45 overs and they bowled out AVR E Techno School, Vijayawada for 85 runs in 33.5 overs.

In third match, Al. Barkat Malik M. I. English School won the match by 34 runs against DAV Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh. While, Kiddys Corner Higher Secondary School, Gwalior (MP) defeated St. Johns Jr. College, Hyderabad by 63 runs.
