Day 13: Coca-Cola Cricket Cup U-16 Inter-School Tournament, Delhi-leg

Yash’s Fiver Thrash St. Columbo Public School, Pitam Pura by 75 Runs in Rd 2

New Delhi, 25th November 2013: Yash’s deadly bowling helped Government Boys Senior Secondary School No.2, Keshav Puram thrash St. Columbo Public School, Pitam Pura by 75 runs in a Group A Round 2 match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup under-16 inter-school tournament, played at Parmarth ground today.

St. Columbo Public School won the toss and opted to field first. Government Boys School managed to score 171 runs with the help of Amit Malik (37), Guddu (27) and Neeraj (24 not out). For St. Columbo Public School, Keshav Malik led the bowling attack with his three-wicket haul. He was well-supported by Rishav Kumar and Sachin Nanda, whose two-wicket hauls helped their team to bowled-out the opposition in 28.2 overs.

While chasing, St. Columbo were bundled-out at a meagre score of 96. Govt. Boys School’s star bowler Yash spearheaded the bowling attack and his five-wicket haul rattled the opponent’s batting line-up. From the other end, Amit and Ajay Pal claimed two wickets and helped their team to contain St. Columbo in 19.4 overs.

Yash was adjudged Man-of-the Match for his lethal bowling.

GBSSS-KP: 171 all out in 28.2 overs (Amit Malik 37, Guddu 27, Neeraj 24 n.o.; Keshav Malik 3/35, Rishav Kumar 2/15, Sachin Nanda 2/49).

SCPS: 96 all out in 19.4 overs (Pushkal Bansal 23, Jasvinder Singh 23; Yash 5/4, Amit 2/28, 2/29).
